Katahdin Sheep

Pasture-Raised Katahdin Sheep in Northern Michigan

Katahdins are a hair sheep breed known for naturally shedding their coats without shearing, making them a practical choice for pasture-based farms and homesteads. Originally developed as a meat breed, they are valued for their grazing ability, hardiness, and efficient growth. At Horton Bay Heritage Farm, our sheep are raised outdoors on pasture with rotational grazing and a focus on strong maternal instincts, sound structure, and animals that thrive in Northern Michigan’s changing seasons.

Current Katahdin Availability

Lamb availability changes seasonally, and some animals may be reserved before weaning. Visit our current availability list for lambs, breeding stock, reservation notes, and pricing updates.
