Shop at the Farmstead ~ Opening 2025

Welcome to The Glorie Be Store at Horton Bay Heritage Farm!

This old country store in Petoskey, Michigan was once a beloved antique, gifts, cut flowers and seasonal goods store in the 80's and 90's. As the proud newest stewards of this country store (and farm that dates back to 1890's), we are excited to bring you a gently reimagined local farm goods shopping experience!

 Coming Soon!

*UPDATE*

Life has a way of throwing us curve balls right when we think we have it all planned out.

Call them setbacks, curveballs, hiccups, monkey wrenches, or just good old-fashioned twists in the road... whatever the name, they’ve been very real, and they’ve shaped the past six months in ways we never expected."

Snag Number One

Back in mid-August 2024, the road got rough when Jack—my husband and the workhorse of our farm—suddenly faced life-threatening heart failure. It hit fast, and we were slow to diagnose it, simply because it was the last thing we ever expected. He’s strong, healthy, and has never had a major health issue.

The shock was enormous. But by the grace of God and thanks to the unending prayers from our family and friends, he made a full recovery. By January 2025, he was back to doing the heavy lifting and keeping the farm moving forward.

Snafoo Number Two

Then, just as things were settling down, the next chapter began. In January, I was diagnosed with a large, life-threatening aortic aneurysm.

By mid-March, I was at Cleveland Clinic undergoing open-heart surgery. Again, thank God it was found in time—and while the surgery was a success, recovery is long and slow.

Spring is when the bulk of our work happens to prepare for the growing season and bring new projects to life. So while we are sad to say, due to my slow recovery, our soft opening for spring 2025 won’t happen quite as we’d planned, we’re still moving forward—just at a slower pace and on a smaller scale.

We're excited to keep you updated on our progress and the limited offerings we’ll be rolling out throughout 2025. Sign up for our newsletter, and we are posting regularly on Facebook and Instagram.

On-Farm Shopping at Horton Bay Heritage Farm in Petoskey

Reviving The Glorie Be Store

In the 1980s and 90s, the Glorie Be was a beloved country store, offering everything from antiques and pumpkins to cut flowers and gifts. In honor of that history, we’re proud to bring it back. The "Glorie Be" Store at Horton Bay Heritage Farm is reopening in 2025, beginning with a seasonal farm stand on the rebuilt front porch. This self-serve kiosk will feature fresh farmstead goods and local treasures, with plans to renovate the store interior for an expanded experience in 2026.

The "Glorie Be" Store will offer organically grown produce, cut flowers, nursery plants, and farmstead goods using sustainable, ecological and  regenerative farming practices.

We’re also partnering with local farmers and artisans from Charlevoix, Petoskey, and Boyne City to bring you the best local farm goods. ~ Learn more about selling your goods at Horton Bay Heritage Farm
