Our farm nursery grows a vibrant selection of annual and perennial plants to bring life and beauty to your garden. From colorful flowers to hardy perennials, we focus on species that thrive in northern Michigan’s climate. Many of our perennials are pollinator-friendly and align with permaculture principles, supporting a healthy, sustainable ecosystem. Whether you’re looking to fill your garden with seasonal blooms or long-lasting greenery, our nursery offers high-quality plants that will flourish in your space.
In our nursery’s propagation beds, we nurture a diverse array of trees and shrubs for landscapes, food forests, and hedgerows. With a passion for permaculture, we prioritize plants that provide beauty, habitat, and ecological benefits. From ornamental favorites to edible and medicinal varieties, our offerings include options for privacy, shade, and year-round interest. Each tree and shrub is propagated with care, reflecting our commitment to regenerative practices and locally adapted plants.
Our garden nursery is the perfect place to find garden starts for your vegetable and herb beds. We grow a variety of seedlings, from heirloom tomatoes and peppers to culinary herbs and leafy greens. Our offerings change seasonally. To stay informed on what seasonal plants are available, sign up for our newsletter! We’ll announce what’s currently in stock and share upcoming availability dates. We’ll also post updates on social media (links below) as new plants become available. This ensures you’ll know when fresh plants are ready to purchase in the garden nursery.
If you’re searching for a specific plant or quantity or if you need something at a specific time, email us directly. While most of our plants are grown right here on our farm in Petoskey , we also order in select nursery stock from growers sourced as local as possible. If there’s something special you need, reach out, and we’ll do our best to get what you need when you need it.
Propagation is a central part of our nursery operations and a key to growing plants that thrive in Northern Michigan’s climate. We grow plants from seeds, hardwood and softwood cuttings, and plant divisions. To ensure strong, healthy plants that are well-suited for the region, we prioritize sourcing our propagation materials as close to local as possible. This approach results in plants that are naturally acclimated to the conditions of Petoskey, Boyne City, Charlevoix, and the surrounding areas.
Our heated greenhouse is a key part of our farm nursery, providing the opportunity to grow year-round. This controlled space allows us to start seeds early, propagate hardwood and softwood cuttings, and shelter plants that "push the envelope" for zone 5b. It also enables us to introduce plant varieties that might not thrive outdoors in our climate. The greenhouse extends our growing capacity, helping us maintain a steady supply of plants throughout the year.
We focus on plants that are valuable for food production, pollinator support, and ecological health. Native plants are essential for supporting local wildlife, including birds, bees, and butterflies. Edible crops, like fruiting shrubs and perennial herbs, support food production for both people and pollinators. Our pollinator-friendly plants provide habitat for beneficial insects, while our ornamental offerings bring visual appeal to landscapes.
The plants we grow are selected for their purpose and value. Edible crops provide nourishment, pollinator plants support biodiversity, and ornamental plants add beauty to landscapes. We also grow privacy hedges, windbreaks, and other useful plants that offer practical benefits for homesteads, farms, and gardens. By focusing on plants that provide both function and beauty, we create a plant nursery that serves the needs of people, wildlife, and the land.
